My Love For The Outdoors

I have loved the outdoors as far back as I can remember. I always loved being outside in the fresh air, even as a little kid. Maybe it’s because I spent most of my childhood in the Great Northwest that I grew this deep love for nature, or maybe it’s because I was spending my Saturday mornings watching The Discovery Channel and Animal Planet rather than cartoons.

The first job I can ever remember wanting, was to be a dolphin trainer at Sea World. Then I wanted to study sharks after I watched every episode of Shark Week on the Discovery Channel ( I never missed a Shark Week growing up). All through high school my new professional desire was to be a storm chaser (chase tornados) or to be a photographer for National Geographic. When I was in my freshman year of collage I wanted to work for a non profit doing conservation work.

My whole life I have always been fascinated with the outdoors. I have also realized that the more time I spend in nature, the healthier I feel physically and mentally. Studies have been done, more than once, proving the health benefits of spending time outside. I think it is important that we spend our time outside, not jus for our benefit, but also for the benefit of our planet. The more time you spend outside, the more you learn and the more you care about protecting and saving the environments around us.

Because of my deep love for nature, I’ve partnered with an amazing company that shares this same love for the outdoors and the beautiful world we live in. Made from beautiful natural wood, JORD watches provide the perfect sustainable accessory. JORD and I want to give one lucky winner an $100 gift card towards a watch of their choice.
